In the past few years, a new generation of South Asians has been emerging in the American marketplace, and with this emergence there has been a stream of movies that have been made to appeal to a South Asian audience. These movies, including the likes of LEELA, AMERICAN DESI, ABCD, and AMERICAN CHAI, have successfully brought in their targeted South Asian audience, yet their appeal to a mainstream American audience has been limited.

GOOD OL’ BOY is a movie that from conception is being targeted at the broader mainstream global audience with its heartwarming coming-of-age story… its several richly developed South Asian characters merely give it the added benefit and assurance of a South Asian audience. In the same vein as BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM and MONSOON WEDDING, our movie will not only attract South Asian audience’s worldwide (due to its colorful South Asian characters), but above and beyond that, it will bring in a mainstream global audience for whom it is developed.

The current order of business is finishing re-writes on the script which is scheduled to be completed by the end of February 2004.ý Next, in conjunction with casting director Mike Fenton, the project will be shopped around to name Hollywood actors.
